The weekend before Father’s Day

Juneteenth falls on Saturday, June 19, in 2027. It is a City of Raleigh holiday: in 2026, when it fell on a Friday, city offices closed, trash pickup and the Yard Waste Center were not affected and GoRaleigh ran its regular schedule, according to the city’s holiday alert. Raleigh Parks has held Juneteenth celebrations at several parks, including Chavis Park and Mordecai; we will link the 2027 list when it is out.

What this means for you

  • Plan a free outing: the science museum is open Sundays, and the greenways are free.
  • Watch this page in early June for Father’s Day menus and events with confirmed dates.
